Toronto Gym Renovation
We here at Milman strive to be as versatile in our craft as often as possible. With that standard in mind, our commercial renovations extend outside the restaurant industry. We recently worked on a local gym. This was a large building complete with your usual weight room, cardio room, change room, showers, and sauna.
While renovating houses is a great achievement, and refurbishing restaurants are projects we live for, gyms offer a different challenge for our company. This is not a place of comfort, but rather a location designated for people to go above and beyond in exercise. Please don’t think for a second that we came into this job with the intent to deliver a less-than-stellar final product. Quite the contrary. We approached this task with the same level of dedication and concentration as the bodybuilders that will eventually be using it.
When renovating a gym, you need to be aware that this is different from a commercial contractor’s usual project. Instead of a place for people to convene over a cup of coffee or glass of wine, this is an establishment for those same folks to break out of their comfort zone and indulge in a hard day’s workout. Perhaps to burn off those carbs from the pasta they ate with their glass of wine. People appreciate a good place to pump iron and as you’d expect, we always deliver.
Our plans for Up-gradation
Starting with the gym floors, we set out to build a soft, neutral color surface. This was not only to make it comfortable for exercisers to walk on, but easy for employees to maneuver machines in and out if necessary. For the flooring outside of the gym, we went with a grey coloring. The entrance of each room is also complete with beautiful glass doors. This includes the cozy office spaces for trainers and other employees to sort out their business while overseeing the condition of the gym.
Each room shares a similar paint job. Everything from the workout spaces to the change rooms, to the employee offices enjoy an attractive light blue coding. This wasn’t just a random choice we pulled out of thin air. Different colors bring out certain feelings and emotions from those who observe them. The color blue often invokes a strong feeling of confidence, productivity and stability, a perfect shade for a gym. You need to stay focused and motivated throughout your workout.
When it came to the changing area, our commercial contractors didn’t shy away from supplying its occupants with a comfortable space to lock away their belongings and get in gear for some exercise. This space involved towel racks and multiple showers.
In conclusion, our customers were incredibly happy with their new gym. It is one of our finer achievements in recent memory, and one that we will certainly be using a model for commercial renovations to come. Happy lifting!
