Garage Suite Renovation

How often can one say that they are jealous of the person staying in the garage? Milman is a renovation company that has enjoyed working on countless successful ventures for close to twenty years. Our renovation contractors have developed a reputation for being quick and efficient with their trade, all while maintaining their polite and professional work ethic. With that said, a good challenge can be helpful occasionally. Aside from keeping us on our toes, we learn even more new ways to better ourselves and our business.

In this case, we are talking about the renovation of a garage suite, something you hear about, but don’t often encounter with your own eyes. Now many of you may be scratching your head and wondering what exactly a garage suite is. A “garage suite” is a room or residence located above or beside a detached garage. And we don’t mean a sprawled-out parking space with a king-sized bed sitting next to your Honda Civic. This is a separate room. Garage suites can be so luxurious, many are left forgetting they are not actually in the house itself.

With these standards already set, our company knew we needed to aim higher. This home addition needed be an example for those who came after us. Our blueprints mapped out all our work. Everything from the bathroom, kitchen and living space was drawn and ready to turn into reality.

Key Features Installed

The kitchen was located right next to the suite’s side entrance. We built and installed all the usual features including a sink, oven and refrigerator. Located up top were several pantry spaces to store food and kitchen supplies. There are also three cupboard compartments directly above the stove. This is complete with a brick wall layout designed specifically for the kitchen.

Adjacent to the kitchen, is our bathroom facility. While it is small, the shower is one you wouldn’t find in the majority rented apartments. Complete with a glass door and highly pressurized shower head, this is certainly the one-bathroom feature that stands out the most.

While the kitchen and bathrooms are sure to give you that “at home” feeling, they are not the only benefits to staying in the garage suite. Aside from being in a perfect position for natural lighting, you also have a ton of extra living space. Directly across from the kitchen is enough room to sit several pieces of furniture as well as a home theater system. Off to the side is a patch of space just waiting to have a bed stored in it.

Our commercial contractors went to work on this feature for several months. The result was a garage suite that has matched the luxury and overall living conditions of the owner’s house. We are happy to say that out of the garage suites we have worked on in the past, this may be our finest. To the guests lucky enough to be shacking up in this amazing addition, enjoy your new digs!
