Thornhill Home Renovation
Another custom home renovation project we recently completed was in Thornhill. A lovely two-car garage residence that sat peacefully on Colvin Crescent. What could you possibly want more? Well, the gift of having a wonderful home isn’t always fulfilling. Some people want that extra feature that truly transforms your place into an indoor slice of paradise.
We immediately went into the house and got busy with the interior. The homeowners gave us all the information we needed in order to make their vision a reality. They proved to be incredibly patient as we went to work on their custom home additions. Similar to Aurora, this job took its time, but our team’s work ethic got us through many hours we spent on labor.
Every homeowner wants something different. We all have individual ideas as to what would make our home additions and living spaces attractive. Unlike our Aurora renovation project which saw us renovating each individual level, this project focused primarily on the living and family rooms, both of which have distinctly different appearances.
Ideal Family Room
What does one want in an ideal family room? Aside from an obvious intention to spend quality time with your children and significant others, most people want the proper atmosphere to consume entertainment. The family room of this house has an attractive new layout featuring smooth hardwood flooring, a clean paint job and new tiles. This gives room to a home theater system and several pieces of fine furniture.
Now when it comes to a living room, things are usually simpler. You are not as interested in immersing yourself in the spectacle of surround sound while watching a movie. If you’re a more relaxed individual, you are probably looking for a place to sit and enjoy a quiet conversation. Perhaps a soothing atmosphere to lay down and read a book in front of the fireplace.
Importance of Color Contrast
Our Thornhill living room is something out of a novel itself. The color contrast offered by the space is something you would take note of instantly. With a light orange paint job and brown hardwood flooring, the additions of several red pieces of furniture made this one of the more hypnotic areas of the home.
Color is crucial, particularly in these spaces. Unless you are going for one specific theme throughout your entire house, a room that stands out and serves as a place of refuge after a hard day is a must. If you are looking for a tone that represents “happiness” and “warmth”, you are best off choosing orange or bright yellow. If you are looking for a shade that shows sophistication, you are best off with blue or black. When trying to represent nature and love, green is your best bet.
When it was all said and done, our customers couldn’t have been more pleased with their new custom home renovation project. It was certainly one of the more pleasant jobs we have done, but nevertheless, one we still took seriously. Your home is our mission.
